Sealing Subsea - a challenging environment
Subsea is a term to refer to equipment, technology, and methods employed in marine biology, undersea geology, offshore oil and gas developments, underwater mining, and offshore wind power industries.
Oil and gas fields reside beneath many inland waters and offshore areas around the world, and in the oil and gas industry the term subsea relates to the exploration, drilling and development of oil and gas fields in underwater locations.
Working in the subsea industry presents it’s own unique challenges for divers installing subsea gaskets;
critical conditions, extreme pressures and risk of corrosion all have to be considered when selecting
the correct gasket/seal.
The recommended products for subsea applications are either Ring Type Joints (RTJ’s) capable of
withstanding high pressures, or gaskets with corrosion resistant properties.
THE SOLUTION: FRG SUBSEA GASKET/ RING TYPE JOINTS
The Flange Rescue Gasket (FRG) can be used for remedial repairs on corroded equipment AND as a preventative solution. We can also provide a Subsea version of the FRG which features a unique handle for easy and safe installation.
All Flexitallic Ring Type Joints are API 6A and 17 approved, and are ideal for high pressure applications.
